Hello! My name is Adam Pointon, I’m 24 years old and I am the Material Science Graduate for Genuit Group plc and have been since September 2021. My responsibilities include researching, trialling, and managing sustainable material projects throughout our businesses. I studied Chemistry at the University of Nottingham with a passion for green chemistry and sustainability, which are passions that shine through in my job. At The Future Industry Group, I’m helping develop our schedule for 2023 where we are focusing on the development of our knowledge as professionals new to the industry and providing a network that is supportive and knowledgeable for our members.

I work in sustainability and environmental social governance (ESG) for the Genuit Group, a conglomerate of 20 construction products manufacturing companies. Working in the head office, I am involved in the sustainability strategy, decarbonisation, product specific environmental impact projects, and reporting across the 29 different sites that make up the Group. My passion for sustainability stems from a lifelong love for the outdoors, coupled with a BSc Geography and an MSc Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Management from the University of York. I joined the construction industry being aware that it accounts for around half of the worlds GHG emissions and is fundamental to us achieving net-zero as a nation, and species

I am Category Manager at Radius Systems.  My focus is in developing and launching new products to the water and gas utilities. A key part of this is understanding the key industry trends and as a new member of the Future Industry Group I aim to make new contacts in the industry and gain inspiration from different areas in the BPF. I am just into my second year at Radius Systems but have worked in the extrusion sector before as well as working in several other areas of construction. Product innovation and the environment are key areas of interest for me.
